New Lucky Painting

The Ice Cream's Gone But Atleast We Have Apples • 2009

Winter…Sleep

I'm completely immersed in my paintings once again. I am no longer suffering from a state of unconquerable inertia. No thoughts distract me and I begin to paint from days on end.

I am drawn to the Romantic life of an artist.

The piece that I donated. I've considered this for many years, my lucky painting.

Introduction To Screen Print

I took a workshop class at Lillstreet Art Center to learn the techniques of screen printing. Originally, I wanted to take the screen print on fabric class so I can design my own t-shirts but that class interfered with work schedule. Ideally, I wanted a class that was on a weekend which led me to take the screen print on paper with the guidance of Tom Lucas. I'm glad I took that class instead and anyone whose interested in screen print, I strongly recommend taking this beginning class with Tom. I learned basic print techniques and was introduced to photo emulsion process but most importantly, I left with an appreciation for the artform and an appreciation for the artists, especially working in the Chicago area.
This is my first print on bristol paper (14x17).

Beyond The Barrelman Exhibition

The exhibition was a huge success! As an artist, all I want is to have atleast one other person connect with my work. I also sold my first painting. Maybe now I can afford to buy more supplies and make more work.

Wondering Aimlessly…

The first nine years was pure. It was surreal. Then you hit the age or reason. You know what it is? It got too loud. People began yelling in your ears. What to believe, what to think, how to think, basically how to live your life. Nothing made sense. I could not hear my own voice. So I got out.
